Familiar with the economics theory of scarcity ? Here's a simple way to illustrate the theory; basically this theory says that if the supply of a certain commodity or goods is more than its demand, then the price of the commodity is bound to drop. On the other hand, the reverse is true if the demand is more than supply. Now, you must be wondering what has all this got to do with dating. Actually it has everything to do with dating? Still clueless? Here goes! Let's assume that you are at the point where you've just started seeing a girl, went out for a couple of dates and you've pretty much concluded that she is worth pursuing. This is the point where the theory of scarcity kicks in. Once you start courting, you need to make yourself SCARCE! And that pretty much explains the need for you to make yourself scarce when you are courting. If you call her 3 - 4 times a day, don't! Put yourself in her shoes and ask yourself, what is the first thing that comes to mind if you are getting calls every 4-5 hours. The few probable answers are; it's either you have no social life, too free or you are DESPARATE! None of it is good for your image and you certainly don't want to be identified as such? So, do yourself a favour, appear busy to her even if you have absolutely nothing to do. Every time your hand reaches for the phone, stop yourself and don't screw things up by being over eager! On the contrary, remind yourself that if you do not call frequently, she will think that you have a life besides her and that makes you desirable! By appearing busy you are also implying that you are a career oriented and confident man. A career man equates dependable! Therefore exercise caution when you are at the start of a new relationship. Too much too soon and you'll turn the table against you but play your cards right and you got a winner!
