Best Dating Sites
Where you can meet the right person for the right relationship
|Dating, both adult and for relationships is a huge field in the Internet. It provides millions of people the opportunity to initially anonymously find partners from all over the world and then develop the relationship. There are a few free sites that make their money on advertising but most of these lack the resources to prevent scammers and all sorts of unsavory people from joining. The serious ones moderate and check, in so far as possible, no undesireable people join up. Last month we looked at the Friendfinder sites. This month we rated the Klub series of dating sites and for choice of potential partners we find these some of the best. As usual we have included different categories such as adult, not so adult and pure dating. If the adult sites offend you do not go into them.|

What to watch out for in dating
There is a real need out there for people with common interests to meet. In the old days we had the matchmaking firms where you would go in and record a video of yourself , view other customers and if there was a mutual agreement to meet , the matchmaking firm would set up a date. This has now evovlved into a huge Internet industry and is ideal for those who want to protect their anonymity until the actual moment of meeting someone. Does it work? By all statistics, and I do not mean those given out by the dating sites themselves, yes it does!!!.
There are all sorts of dating sites promoting niche markets, highly localized ones, religious groups, ethnic, foreign brides, gay, I have added a couple of "adult dating " links as these are extremely popular.
A couple of pointers when you use Internet dating sites.
Be careful out there. Meet people in public places and preferably let someone know where you are going, bring a friend the first time around but let your date know you are going to do it, prearrange an exit for your friend if you feel comfortable. Meet your date for the first time for a short drink or cup of coffee, lunch times are ideal as you can always make a quick exit by using the excuse you need to get back to work. Nothing is more awkward than having to sit in front of someone for hours while you are having dinner and you cannot stand that person.
Never send anyone any money for whatever reason on a dating site. There are a lot of scammers and some a really professional tricksters. Report scammers to your dating company.
Register on a few different sites, most provide a free trial, see who is on the site and see who contacts you. Upgrade to a paying member if you feel you are having success. Most sites charge an automatically recurring monthly fee. Remember to cancel any recurring subscriptions if you leave the site for whatever reason.
Upload a photo of yourself, If you are shy, upload one from a picture gallery that looks somewhat like you, if you are very very shy upload a cartoon or a picture of your favorite pet . Most people browsing through dating profiles will only look at the ones with photos, so any photo you put up will increase the chances someone will look at your profile. Try and write a catchy profile, see some tips in the article below.
For the guys , I recommend you read the article below on do's and don'ts
Internet Dating - Its Not For
Six months ago an old school friend and I were chatting over coffee, putting the world to rights as women do. She was bemoaning her lack of success in meeting the "right sort" of men.
How To Choose a Dating Service

You could just pick one at random, create a profile, and sit back and wait for the other members to beat a path to your email inbox. Who knows, you could get lucky and it might work out first time.

A Nice Guys Guide to Dating
Has it ever happened to you?? Have you ever had the experience of liking a woman, being a perfect gentleman, and treating her like a queen, only to have her reject you in favor of someone else (possibly very handsome) who doesn't treat her right, or doesn't seem to care about her much at all? These kinds of men have been called "bad boys," "charm boys," or "players." When you are interested in women, do they tend to see you as a friend or "brother" rather than a romantic interest? Do women tell you you're "too nice"? If so, you are not alone.

Example Dating Headlines - The Good - The Bad And The Downright Ugly
The title of an article draws a user in and in much the same way an online dating headline does the same thing. Does the title of this article seem a little cliched? Maybe, but in this case it means you know what you'll get; and that's the thing about using clichés as dating headlines, people think they know what to expect so you need to be very careful when using them and decide how they will be interpreted.
You should try to think about your dating headline as a title for you, as if you were a book waiting to be read… Is this really necessary I can hear you saying? Well just take a look at a few online dating sites and you'll see that it really, really is! If you want to stand out from the crowd then your dating photo, username and headline all matter so take the time to consider yours if you are seeking online dating success.
'Everything we do in life today reflects in the universe tomorrow' is a very strong dating headline example as it has a strong spiritual pull but also demonstrates someone who feels responsible for their actions, a combination which is strongly attractive to most women. It also demonstrates that the writer is not afraid to appear sensitive, another big tick in the box!
'Lioness needs keeper' has a strong intellectual pull as it is clever and is both challenging and appealing at the same time. As a dating headline it shows someone who has a strong character but is open to being in a relationship where they sometimes give control to someone else, but not too much, they are a lioness after all!
'Have a seat! Comfortable? Good, let me introduce myself to you then…' This is a good dating headline because it talks directly to the reader. It's very polite but actually very personal at the same time and it's witty. Using the word 'you' and asking a question are both great techniques for drawing people into your dating profile.
'Pick me, pick me' or similar is cute but can sound a little desperate. Add something to it to make a punchier dating headline; e.g. 'pick me and let me make you laugh' or I personally like 'Pick me please – my mum always told me to be polite to strangers and right now you're a stranger' as I think it holds promise but some people might find it a little off-putting and think you are a mummy's boy/girl.
'Looking for love', 'Looking for my dream date', 'Searching for my soul mate' are all examples of overused dating headlines and don't tell your reader anything about you. You need to draw your reader in before you tell them what you want. The only positive of this type of headline is that it indicates your level of commitment; the downside is she might not believe you!
'I might be the one you are looking for' is so overused and the answer I always think to myself when I read this dating headline is 'but you're probably not' and research shows I'm not alone! This is simply not appealing enough and is lazy! Instead tell them why you might be the one they are looking for.
'Hi', 'Hello gorgeous', 'Very nice to meet you' don't work well as online dating headlines. Your dating profile is not a letter, it's an advert and your dating headline should draw your reader in. if you don’t believe me go and look at any dating website and see how many people use this type of dating headline and tell me how the reader is supposed to choose someone based on it!
The downright ugly dating headlines though are created by doing really stupid things like making spelling mistakes when you're trying to be clever or simply saying I can't be bothered making any effort for you (or both as in one example below!)
'I'm suarve and sophisticated' If you can't spell it don’t write it, especially if you're trying to show off!
'Errm right where do I start?' or 'I don’t know what to write' or even worse ' Might right something another day'. Saying hello would be better than any of these! If you can't be bothered creating a dating headline and a good profile then don't expect anyone to be bothered to contact you, it's not cute and it's not funny.

Dating Sabotage - Six Attitudes that Will Keep You Single in 2007 and How to Turn Things Around
This is a New Year's reality check for relationship seekers. Many clients start conversations with me by emphatically stating what they WILL NOT DO. Okay, I understand. There are some dating avenues that you don't like, feel fearful about, hate the idea of, etc. So let's get down to the nitty gritty – what are you willing to do?
That's why this article addresses negativity about dating – to open your mind, your heart and your eyes to the possibilities! I always say "People fall in love every day." because its true. But 99.99%, of the people who find love have actively pursued it.
hopeless romantic. Not the mushy stuff, but romantic in firmly
believing that anyone who truly desires a loving relationship CAN FIND
ONE! It all boils down to three core questions:
1) Do you feel lovable and available to date?
2) What is your attitude about dating and the opposite sex?
3) What will you do to meet new people and how often?
Here's a short list of attitudes that can sabotage your love life. If you hold any of these, your ability to romantically connect may be impacted because they relate directly to the three core questions. But, please keep in mind you have the power to overcome any of these obstacles.
1. Half of American adults are single, but only 16% are willing to do anything about it. Where do you fall in this statistic? These singles aren't opposed to love –they just hope Mr./Ms. Charming will magically show up. Face it –if you want to find love, you'll have to take action.
2. The Internet is not for me. Really? More than 50 million people log on for love every month. It's no longer a creepy option for desperados, but something reported on by the Wall Street Journal. Get over it and get on it. A Justice of the Peace recently took my "Finding Love Online" workshop because most of her clients have met online.
3. All men/women only want one thing. Total nonsense. All men are not womanizers and all women are not gold diggers. These stereotypes do nothing but keep you single. With such an enormous single population, there are plenty of "normal" people who do in fact want a committed relationship.
4. I really want to find love, but right now I'm busy. Everyone has several life priorities. But if love is one of them, NOW is the moment of power. Waiting until you get organized, promoted, settled, lose weight, etc. simply puts off the possibility. The busy-ness is rampant among accomplished professionals who don't make time for a social life. The choice is yours – more work or potential pleasure?
5. I need a trophy wife/rich husband. A man may want a woman 10-20 years younger, but will she want him? And women may want a rich man, but does that guarantee a good relationship? Of course you have to be attracted to the person and you should be selective. But, if you rarely meet anyone who floats your boat, wake up and smell the coffee that you are keeping yourself single with your requirements. The more realistic you can be, the more likely you are to find a loving partner.
6. I'm too shy for single events. Single events are the best place to meet new people. Why? Because attendees have self-qualified! They are single, they are looking and they are all in one place! That's so much better than going to a bar. Instead, go where the fishing is good - at dances, singles groups like Parents Without Partners or singles hiking groups to name just a few.
Don't let these attitudes sabotage your love life. Shake yourself free from these limiting beliefs to find the love you want in 2007. You deserve it.

Do's and Don'ts for Men on Dating Sites
Men, learn how to behave on dating and personals sites.
Being a man and also being the owner of a dating site myself I have to tell all my fellow men that you are chasing all the women away. Most of you anyway. Women are keen on how we behave because most of us all behave the same way on dating sites. Here is a list of DO's and DON'TS to help keep the women at these sites and to help you get some responses.
1) DON'T copy and paste 25 exactly same emails and send them off. Women see right through this and it get's you no-where. Ever wonder why you don't get responses? That's the first reason. DO send individual emails and put some thought into contacting women on these dating sites. REMEMBER: women get 100 emails a day from all sorts of guys. If your email has no heart then you just go over-looked.
2) DO spell check your email, women are so turned off by a guy that cannot spell it shows you are either stupid or just lazy. The same thing goes for grammar. Take some time to get it right guys and you will get a response.
3) DON'T choose a nickname that has a sexual innuendo (unless you are on an adult dating site). Remember, women usually like men with some class and Roger_69sU shows that you just want a one night stand. Try something more clever.
4) DON'T contact single women if you are married. It is a waste of their time and is an insult. DO read their profile and see if they are interested in married men.
5) DON'T lie. DON'T lie. DON'T lie. Enough said.
6) DO not send women pictures of your "privates". They will ask if they want to see that. DO send them a nice picture that shows your sense of humor or style.
7) DON'T just send an email after you see their picture. DO read their profile first.
8) DON'T harass women that are not interested. This ruins the site for everyone and could very well get you banned from the dating site forever. Many sites now have reporting features for this very reason. DO treat all others on the site as though you were talking in person to them. You would harass them to their face would you?
This is just a small list of some of the incredibly stupid things guys are doing on Internet dating and singles sites. Now of course there are some great guys out there that are honestly looking for a nice date or relationship so any women reading this, just bear with us, we men are slowing catching up and figuring it out.
Hope this article helps.
